Binary master alloy alloy with silicon powder
Briquetted master alloy in the tablet form now firmly entered the consciousness of metallurgists and applied at all the aluminum industry plants. The effectiveness of the briquetted master alloy gives no one rise to doubt and a shining example of this is the use of pills in the factories of the secondary industry, which has traditionally used the copper scrap and iron shavings for doping.
Currently, using the pressed alloying additives for preparation of the aluminum alloys is a common method of increasing the content of manganese, iron, titanium, chromium, nickel and copper, however, the entering of the silicon, zirconium, magnesium, strontium, phosphorus is still implemented in the form of a basic product (silicon crystalline CR-00 and primary magnesium Mg-90) or in the form of the fused master alloy (Al90-Mg10, Al-10Srи Cu80-P20). Zirconium is sometimes entered by injection of potassium fluozirconate K 2ZrF 6. melt
A know-how in manufacturing of the tabletted master alloy - the production of tablets using a silicon powder.
For the manufacturing of tablets a silicon powder produced in China(corresponding to the CR-1 State Standard 2169 - 69), iron powder PGRV Standard 14-1-5365-98, copper powder PMS GOST 4960-75, the electrolytic crushed manganese produced in China (corresponding to Mn997 State Standard 6008-90 ) and the flux produced by «Stroybis-XXI» Co. Ltd. were used. The addition of flux to the amount of alloying elements was 1:4, the master alloy physical properties are given in the table. 1
